midlife slumber party

Requirements:

1 bestest friend in the whole wide world (other friends are okay, but this one is a must)
1 or 2 color books
1 large pack of crayons
1 bottle of bubbles
vast quantities of silly string
copious amounts of alcoholic beverages that don't give you a hangover (it can be done, really)

Things I learned from this little party:

Read silly string precautions prior to use
Silly string stains ceilings
Do not wear shoes and/or socks while having a silly string fight
Silly string tastes yucky...blech!
Don't spray silly string in hair (yeah, the warning is on the can, see 1st remark)
Silly string is VERY cold when sprayed in armpits and down shirts
Cats are afraid of silly string, but they chase it anyway
Don't leave open beverages within tipping distance during silly string fight (common sense was hard to come by that evening)
Children get upset when they are not included in the silly string fight

Other things I learned or remembered:

Never underestimate the power of a well-timed hug
A good cuddle never hurt anybody
A long drive with a good friend can refresh a wearied soul
So can a two-hour massage...
Both in the same day are ambrosia
Plastic soda bottles (empty) sting when thrown in one's face, but they don't bruise
(it's a long story...but i deserved it....YAHTZEE!!! AGAIN!!!)
Those Kegel exercises didn't do me any good whatsoever
Sometimes it's okay to give your best friend's husband crabs
(Another long story...but I got to choose which crabs)
Never underestimate the power of a timely embarassing remark
Did I mention those Kegels didn't help???
